>> Fresh picked St. John's wort flowers
>> Olive or almond oil
>> Mason jar
Gather fresh flower blossoms from St. John's Wort plant. Be sure to gather them about late morning on a sunny day so that all moisture has been evaporated from them. Place flowers in a clean mason jar.
You can make as much or as little as you like. Once you have as many flowers as desired, place oil in the jar until all flowers are totally covered. Poke it to ensure any air bubbles have been released. Place the lid on the jar and place on a windowsill where it will get sunlight.
You will see that the oil will gradually turn red. Shake every three or four days.
Strain out the flowers after 4 or 5 weeks and store the oil in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. Be sure to label and date your oil.
