>> 1 cup chokecherry syrup
>> 1 small apple, peeled, finely chopped
>> 1.5 tbsp arrowroot starch
>> 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
>> 1 egg
>> frozen tart shells, thawed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Place tart shells on a baking sheet, slightly poke each one in 3 or 4 places with a fork.
In a small bowl, place the syrup and starch. Using a whisk, make sure all the starch becomes dissolved. Add in the egg and if desired, almond extract; whisk well. Stir in the apples and mix well.
Slowly add some of the mixture into the tart shells.
Place baking sheet in oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes so that the pastry is golden brown.
Remove from oven, and place on wire rack to cool. Then enjoy!
